COVID-19 Pandemic Safety and Waiver

We are taking the COVID-19 pandemic situation seriously. We appreciate your cooperation and patience to keep you and our teachers safe and healthy.

Small Group Classes

  • Students, grown-ups, and our teacher will all be wearing masks for the duration of their time together in the park.

  • All participants will be required to use hand sanitizer upon arrival (we’ll have a pump bottle which the teacher will squirt for you, or if you have your own you can show us that you’re sanitizing.)

  • We’ll set up a “dance island” for each student to maintain social distancing.

  • Please don’t play in the dance space while the ZoomDance Teacher is setting up. Wait until she calls you over to check in, and then she’ll show you which spot will be for your child.

  • Class size is limited to 12 participants. When possible, please have only one adult attend. Adults and siblings will be asked to stay on the perimeter of our dance zone or in nearby section of the park, depending on circumstances.
  • We’ll send you a google form health questionnaire to fill out in the morning before attending class.
  • Participants will be asked to not attend class if any positive answers are provided to the health questionnaire or if you have a high temperature above 100.4.

  • When you register for our small group outdoor classes, you’ll be asked to confirm that you’ve read our safety information and agree to the waiver.

We ask families and staff to contact us if they experience COVID-19 symptoms within 10 days after attending any function at ZoomDance so we can contact any others who may have been exposed.

Summer Camp

ZoomDance will be adhering to or exceeding all CDC guidelines for working with young kids, as well as following any additional parameters in place in the city of Philadelphia. We will continue monitoring any changes to recommendations and adjusting as needed, always with clear communication here on our site and direct to enrolled families.

  • Everyone will wear masks all day, both indoors and outside as recommended by the CDC.

    • As of the end of May, the CDC has updated their guidelines and says it is safe for kids to be outside unmasked if they are not in a crowded environment. We are watching this information as it gets put into practice in the month of June and will hopefully be able to have our campers unmasked when we are running around outside.
  • Drop off and pickup will happen outdoors.

  • All people (adults and children) entering the building will be required to have a health check each day, including having their temperature taken.

  • We will engage in frequent hand-washing for children and adults, especially on arrival, when using the bathroom, and before eating.

  • We will be spending more time outside than previous years. We have chosen a location well-situated between local parks and playgrounds.

  • Windows will be open when the weather permits and we will be using HEPA air filters throughout the space.

  • We have specialized cleaning products as recommended by the CDC to comply with cleaning and sanitizing guidelines. Cleaning and sanitizing will happen throughout the day on high-touch surfaces, shared materials, bathrooms, etc. Thorough cleaning of the space will take place every evening as well.

  • We ask that camp families please not attend large-group gatherings or spend time indoors with multiple unvaccinated adults for a week prior to attending camp, and while their children are with us.

  • Talk to your kids ahead of time about mask-wearing and washing hands and not sharing germs. We’ll reinforce these topics in fun ways 🙂
  • We have clear policies, in compliance with CDC guidelines, on our response to COVID exposure, including isolating children or adults with symptoms, alerting all families, and shutting down for quarantine as necessary.

  • We will institute extra staff training as needed in order to make sure all staff understand and are able to comply with all health and safety policies.

  • When you register for camp, you’ll be asked to confirm that you’ve read our safety information and agree to the below waiver.

We ask families and staff to contact us if they experience COVID-19 symptoms within 10 days after attending any function at ZoomDance so we can contact any others who may have been exposed.
